Jonathon Scott, pianistA concert to celebrate 50 years music making in and around Sheffield! Beginning with Mozart's evergreen overture, our programme continues with Rachmaninov's most substantial piano concerto, for which we are delighted to welcome the brilliant young pianist Jonathan Scott. Strauss' famous tone poem based on a German medieval tale about a cheeky mischief-maker is a wonderful showcase for the members of the orchestra, and the programme ends with a substantial orchestral selection from one of Gershwin's best loved shows. You'll be surprised how many tunes you recognise here (including 'I got rhythm' and 'Embraceable you') - don't miss this thrilling finale to our 50th season!
